The trip of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Karakalpakstan commenced with a visit to the "Aktuba Textile" enterprise in Kegeil district.

Previously, there was no industrial production in the area. The results of the ongoing work on structural reforms in the economy, interregional cooperation are also embodied here. In particular, three projects were implemented in the district together with Andijan entrepreneurs.

One of them is the "Aktuba Tekstil" enterprise, capable of producing more than 3 million knitwear annually. Modern equipment from Germany, Japan and Turkey was installed at the enterprise. It has created 500 jobs. It is planned to export products worth $ 6 million annually.

The President has got acquainted with the production process, conversed with the workers. Having emphasized a special importance of the emergence of such enterprises in remote areas and the employment of women in them, he instructed the responsible officials to continue work in this direction.

A retraining center has been organized at the enterprise. Here, unemployed residents of nearby mahallas will be trained in professions.
