President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visits Kamola Kamolbek Kuyun farm in Jarkurgan district.
The farm has 45 hectares of land. This year, it is planned to grow 70 quintals of grain and 40 quintals of cotton from each hectare. Thirty-five people work here on a permanent and seasonal basis.
The President got acquainted with the development of crops, enquired about the varieties of wheat and cotton being cultivated and their productivity.
“Why do we say that agriculture needs science and innovation? First and foremost for quality and yield. Farmers, who want to earn more, should increase productivity through the introduction of science”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
As it is known, the land have been freed from cotton is provided to the unemployed for cultivation of recurring crops on it. The Kamola Kamolbek Kuyun farm has also allocated 20-25 hectares of land to 34 citizens who are in the social «books». They planted vegetables, potatoes, onions, carrots and other crops and get good income from this. This year, another 18 citizens will be allocated 30 hectares of land each to establish private farms.
The President conversed with owners of these lands.
The population is allocated plots of land and helped with seeds and fertilizers. All that remains is to work. If every family tries and strives to change their lives, poverty and unemployment will disappear,» said the President.
It was noted that the climatic conditions of Surkhandarya allow getting up to three harvests a year, respectively, it is necessary to assist the population and create sources of income.
