On March 9, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov.

At the beginning of the meeting, Akylbek Japarov conveyed sincere greetings from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov to the President of Uzbekistan.

The practical implementation of agreements reached at the top-level in Bishkek on January this year has been considered.

A particular attention has been paid to the further deepening of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and the expansion of cooperation in the economy, trade, energy, as well as intensifying interregional contacts, cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The importance of prompt implementation of cooperation projects in the automobile industry, creation of joint cotton-textile clusters, production of electrical appliances and joint mineral resources development was emphasized.

During the meeting, the practical aspects of Kambarata HPP-1 joint construction were discussed. The need to actively prepare the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project was underscored.

It was noted that a number of joint events at the level of parliaments, governments, experts, public and youth are planned to be held this year aimed at deepening the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

An exchange of views on topical aspects of regional cooperation also took place.
