President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the enterprises in Jizzakh free economic zone.

Jizzakh region used to be the area with one of the lowest indicators of industrial production per capita. Today, industry is actively developing in every district of the region.

At present, 27 projects have been implemented in the economic zone and around 5,3 thousand jobs have been created. In recent years, its activities have expanded and running a business here has become even more convenient. Now the enterprises produce a wide range of industrial goods. 

In October 2022, confectionary enterprise Iruskon started operating in the Free Economic Zone. The President examined its technological process and products.

Confectionery products of the brand «Deya» are made here based on the experience of Russia, Turkey, Germany and Italy. Annual capacity is 12 thousand tons of products. A total of about 100 people are employed here. In order to realize the second stage next year, it is planned to bring additional equipment worth of $5 million from Germany and Turkey. As a result, 550 new jobs will be created.

One more enterprise of the free economic zone is a limited liability company "Master Building Products". It produces 3 million pieces of pipes, fittings and building materials a year. A total of about 600 jobs are created here. The President familiarized with the show room of the enterprise.

Uzbek-South Korean joint venture Global Optical Communication is capable of producing 85,000 kilometers of cable and wire products a year. Some 115 workers are employed here.

During his visit to the enterprises, the President gave recommendations for increasing the level of localization, production of import-substituting and export-oriented goods.

Now 14 more projects are being implemented in Jizzakh Free Economic Zone, five of which will be put into operation this year.
