On December 29, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a phone conversation with the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President conveyed his cordial greetings and best wishes to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Presidents discussed topical issues of further deepening the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, trust, good neighborliness and strategic partnership.

A particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements at the highest level, reached during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan on July 14-15 and the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan on October 20-21, as well as meetings at the platforms of multilateral organizations.

The sides noted with great satisfaction the significant intensification of cooperation in all priority directions. The trade volumes have been increasing, as well as joint cooperation projects in industrial and energy sectors, the productive interregional contacts and programs of cultural and humanitarian exchange have been implemented.

It has been underscored that the inter-parliamentary dialogue, including in Central Asia, has reached a new level.

At the end of conversation, the President of Uzbekistan and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan exchanged congratulations on the coming New Year and wishing a well-being, peace and prosperity to the two brotherly peoples.
