On December 12, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Sándor Csányi, the chairman of the board of the leading Hungarian bank OTP.

The issues of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation with Hungarian companies and promoting joint cooperation projects in accordance with the agreements of regular summit meetings.

The President of our country sincerely congratulated Sándor Csányi on a successful completion of the deal on acquisition of the state share in «Ipoteka Bank» and the entry of leading European banking and financial institution into Uzbek market.

A special emphasis was placed to the issues of attracting direct investment from Hungary and other EU countries to implement investment projects in various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy, including industry, agriculture, horticulture and poultry farming, production of food and textiles, pharmaceuticals, and others.

Furthermore, the importance of close cooperation in the sphere of higher education and professional training, as well as the improvement of quality of rendered banking services to the population, have been underscored.

The agreement was reached on adoption of the «Road Map» with top-priority measures for supporting and promoting joint projects and cooperation programs.

Following the meeting, a signing ceremony on acquisition of the state share of «Ipoteka-Bank» by «OTP» Bank took place in the presence of our country's leader.
