On October 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on ensuring the sustainable work of economic sectors and social institutions in autumn and winter.
As it is well-known, on September 23 this year, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted the Resolution №522, which approved separate schedules in the context of regions, districts and industries, as well as identified specific measures and sources.
The Minister of Energy and khokims (governors) of the regions reported on the work carried out in this direction at the meeting.
It is noted that the measures are being taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to the population. To this end, it is set to generate 21 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in the fourth quarter, and almost 22 billion kilowatt-hours at the beginning of next year. In the autumn-winter period, 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be supplied to consumers.
In order to avoid waste in this process, the President instructed to fully digitize all links in the natural gas supply chain – from gas wells to consumers.
It was emphasized that liquefied gas and coal would be supplied to villages, their social facilities, far from gas pipelines. If it is necessary, the regions will receive additional reserves.
«The leaders of all industries and regions should redouble their responsibility in this matter, meet the needs of the population, do not ignore the appeals and promptly resolve each of them», Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.
The Ministry of Energy was instructed to monitor the state of providing the population with energy resources in real-time. It is noted that the activities of call centers and regional working groups are important in solving emerging problems.
The main attention was paid to the issue of saving energy resources. It was emphasized that the crisis phenomena in the global energy industry also affect our region, as well as the relevance of responsible consumption is growing. In this regard, the importance of introducing energy-efficient technologies in all institutions and increasing the involvement of the population in energy conservation was noted.
The issues of enterprises’ financial recovery and increasing the commercial banks' stability were also considered at the meeting. Several instructions have been given to assist the projects launched at the expense of loans in reducing their overdue debts by reaching full production capacity.
