President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly during his official visit to Turkmenistan.
The youth, masters of art solemnly welcomed the President of Uzbekistan.
The ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Professor of the University to the President of Uzbekistan took place. Rector of the University Bayramgul Orazdurdiyeva and President of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Allaberdy Ashirov solemnly handed Shavkat Mirziyoyev the title of Honorary Professor and a certificate on conferring the title.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the Leader of Uzbekistan expressed his sincere gratitude for bestowing such an honorary title.
The President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the issues of education and upbringing have always served as the cornerstone of development, a force that augments the power of nations and peoples since ancient times.
“Today, the future of any society directly depends on how educated and comprehensively developed the young generation is. Thus, the fundamental reforms are being undertaken in the education and upbringing system in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Our goal is for the young people in the New Uzbekistan to be harmoniously developed individuals with a broad outlook and creative thinking, ready to take responsibility for the fate of the Motherland,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
In his speech the President of Uzbekistan dwelled on issues of international policy, drawing attention to the need to unite the efforts of the region for a timely response to emerging the challenges and threats.
«There is only one way out of this situation – a constructive dialogue built on the consideration and respect for the interests of every state, and every nation», stressed the President of Uzbekistan.
It has been noted that Uzbekistan has been effectively cooperating with Turkmenistan on pressing issues of international agenda, actively supporting each other within the UN and other organizations.
Concluding his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has expressed confidence that the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly would multiply the glorious traditions of training highly qualified personnel, as well as the graduates of the university would honorably serve the noble cause of further development of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly is the oldest and largest university in the country. It was established under the Ashgabat Pedagogical Institute, which opened in 1931.
The President of Uzbekistan got acquainted with the exhibition about the activities of the university.
The university has 12 faculties: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, Turkmen and foreign languages, information technology, and law. More than 7 thousand students study at the university.
