On 12-14 October at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a working visit to Astana.
On October 13, the President addressed the Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, put forward the important initiatives on cooperation in trade and economy, transport and logistics, ecology, security, as well as on the Afghan issue.
On October 14, the development of multilateral cooperation, political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian interaction within the organization were discussed at the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting.
The Central Asia – Russia Summit was also held.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smaiylov saw off the President of Uzbekistan at the Astana International Airport.
The President of Uzbekistan has returned to Tashkent.
