President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the country’s youth on the holiday and delivered a speech.

It is always a great joy for me to meet with you, learn about your cherished dreams and plans, and hear your suggestions and initiatives. Seeing your determination and enthusiastic eyes, I get a charge of an inexhaustible energy. You possess a great power, the President has said.

The President has noted that he came to the festival with new proposals and announced additional opportunities that would be created for the youth.

In particular, nearly 3 million young men and women at an age of 14-17 will now be able to benefit from the advantages and preferences provided for by the Youth book. The number of these benefits shall increase from the current 11 to 25.

From the academic year 2022-2023, the amount of the contract of students admitted to the maqom (singing in traditional and national way) performance, maqom instrumental performance, and bakhshi (singer of a traditional specific direction) art fields will be fully covered by a state. 

Admission to the technical colleges will be twice a year, and the number of state grants will be doubled. An educational credit will be introduced for training at them. The young people who want to study IT at private educational institutions will also be given a 4-year soft loan up to 20 million Uzbek soums.

To encourage students who show good results in foreign languages, 70 students and 14 of their teachers will go on a trip to the UK paid for by a state.

The President has paid a special attention to ensure a youth employment. It was noted that 220 thousand young people will be employed as a part of the entrepreneurship programs, 130 thousand young men and women will be subsidized for training, more than 110 thousand young people will be attracted to vacant jobs at state-owned enterprises and a private sector.

A program on development of the Uzbek national content on the Internet shall be implemented. Ten billion Uzbek soums will be allocated for this.

Since this year 36 sport federations, 274 sport schools will work with makhallas (the local neighborhood community areas), secondary schools, colleges and technical schools located in their districts. The sports teams will be created in every street, makhalla, school, college and vocational school.

As it is well-known, the process of constitutional reform is going on these days. The President has stressed that more than 70% of the suggestions and initiatives on this issue were put forward by the youth.

Definitely, the updated Constitution is your Constitution, has said the President.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev cited the words of the national poet Gafur Gulyam that our people, our Motherland are ready to support the youth in achieving their highest and noblest goals.

More than 220 thousand young people in Karakalpakstan and the regions watched the celebrations. The President spoke to them via a video link.

On the eve of the Youth Day, a group of young people who have achieved high results in science, sports, arts, entrepreneurship and other fields were awarded the «Kelajak bunyodkori» (‘A builder of the future’) medals and the State Award «Mard o’g’lon» (‘A brave young man’)  by the decree and resolution of President of Uzbekistan.

The President has solemnly presented these awards.

The event continued with a concert program involving the winners of the «Yoshlar Ovozi» (‘A Youth Voice’) contest and famous entertainers.
