On the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on June 21-22 this year the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev shall pay a state visit to Uzbekistan.
The summit agenda includes the issues of further consolidation of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations of strategic partnership and expansion of the multifaceted cooperation.
The Leaders of the two countries shall pay a particular attention to extending the volumes of mutual trade, strengthening the cooperative ties at the level of businesses and the regions, promoting the joint investment projects in various fields of economy, effectively using the opportunities in the transport and transit spheres, as well as continuing the active exchanges in culture and humanities.
Besides, the heads of states shall exchange views on the international and regional situation, discuss the development of an intensive dialogue and mutual support at the multilateral structures.
On the outcomes of the talks at the highest level the sides shall sign a solid set of bilateral documents aimed at deepening the practical cooperation in the industry, transport, agriculture, energy, science and innovation, tourism and other directions.
It should be underscored that on the eve of the visit Tashkent hosts the business events with participation of leading companies and enterprises of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
For over the last years the indicators of mutual trade and the number of joint enterprises have significantly increased. In 2021, the volume of trade has grown by 42 percent and in January-May this year – by 49 percent.
Last year the production lane of the local automobiles has been launched in Azerbaijan. The new projects of cooperation in silk-breeding, agrarian field, construction materials industry, oil and gas sector, pharmaceutical and food industries are being implemented and being developed.
Uzbekistan regularly hosts the bilateral cultural events, festivals, science conferences, presentations and creative meetings.
