The agricultural sector of our country has suffered a heavy loss.

On May 30 this year, an outstanding farmer, the head of the farm «Nurli Obod» of the Oltyariq District of the Ferghana Region, a Hero of Uzbekistan, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (‘the National Parliament’) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a well-known public figure Lolakhon Murodova has passed away after a serious illness at the age of 64.

Lolakhon Murodova, whom the whole country was proud of, was born on March 9, 1958 in the Oltyariq District of the Fergana Region. After graduating from the high school, she began her career as a mechanic in the collective farm «Nurobod» of the Oltyariq District, connected her life with the leading branch of the economy – the agriculture.

With the opening of wide opportunities for the farming movement, a skilled and enterprising farmer was one of the first in the country to establish the «Nurli Obod» Farm and, as a true owner of the land, has made a significant contribution to the development of the farming movement in the country and bringing it to a new level.

L.Murodova, who always strived for innovation in her work, has set an example to all the farmers, especially the youth, with good initiatives, worked with special diligence and enthusiasm in the conditions of the New Uzbekistan. She has formed a unique experience in the application of advanced agricultural technologies, modern management methods in agriculture, rational use of land and water resources, bringing up the younger generation of farmers.

Through her activities, she has shown a true example of love and devotion to a Motherland, her profession. Owing to such noble qualities, Lolakhon Murodova became a real symbol of the Uzbek woman for all our people.

The hero farmer, who devoted her life to serving the people, took an active part in public affairs. Her multifaceted activity in this direction was clearly manifested in her good deeds in teaching the youth and women modern professions, providing them with work, helping them find their place in life, comprehensive support for families in need, improvement of villages and makhallas (‘local neighborhood community areas’), improvement of living conditions of the population.

As a deputy of the Fergana Regional Kengash of People’s Deputies, a member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, L.Murodova took an active part in making important decisions on the development of the country’s regions, accelerating ongoing reforms.

Lolakhon Murodova’s services to the country and the people were adequately appreciated by our state.

She was awarded the orders «El-Yurt Khurmati» (‘Respect by the people and the Motherland’), «Fidokorona hizmatlari uchun» (‘For a selfless labor’), she was awarded the honorary title «Honored Worker of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan» and the highest title «Hero of Uzbekistan».

The bright memory of a wonderful farmer, a well-known representative of agricultural science and a public figure, a caring mentor of the youth, a modest and sincere person, an outstanding daughter of our people Lolakhon Murodova will forever remain in our hearts.
