On May 4, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The Leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the holy occasion f Ramadan Hayit (Eid al Fitr), sincerely wishing the fraternal peoples of the two countries peace, happiness, well-being and prosperity.

The topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Tajik relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership were considered. The implementation of adopted agreements and arrangements following the negotiations at the highest level was extensively discussed.

A particular attention was paid to expanding the practical interactions, including increasing the volume of mutual trade, promoting priority cooperation projects in the industry, energy, agriculture, transport and other areas.

The Presidents committed to further strengthen the active interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The importance of holding regular meetings and strengthening coordination at the level of the two governments to accelerate the joint projects and programs of multifaceted cooperation was emphasized.

The sides have also exchanged views on the topical aspects of the regional agenda. The schedule of forthcoming bilateral and multilateral events was also considered.

The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took place in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
