On May 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The leaders warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of our countries on the holy occasion of Ramadan Hayit (Eid al Fitr) for the entire Muslim world, sincerely wishing peace, well-being and prosperity.

The fruitful results of the high-level visit to Uzbekistan in March this year, which brought the bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, were noted with deep satisfaction.

There is an intensive exchange of delegations. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of mutual trade has grown by almost 20%. The implementation of major investment projects for the creation of modern industrial facilities and the modernization of infrastructure in our country with the participation of leading Turkish companies continues. The cooperation in the educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres is expanding.

The Leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey have also exchanged views on the topical issues of international politics, discussed the preparations for the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

The telephone conversation between the Presidents took place in a traditionally warm and friendly atmosphere.
