On April 25, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko, who heads the Belarusian delegation at the International Exhibition «INNOPROM. Central Asia» taking place these days in Tashkent.
The issues of implementation of arrangements and agreements adopted during the high-level visit to Belarus in August 2019 were considered.
The robust development dynamics of the Uzbek-Belarusian multifaceted cooperation, which has emerged in recent years, was noted with satisfaction.
In particular, there is a steady increase in the indicators of mutual trade, which has increased by 57% since the beginning of this year. The cooperation between the high-profile enterprises of the two countries in priority sectors of the economy is increasing.
A particular attention was paid to increasing the volume and ensuring the balance of trade, including through direct supplies of agricultural and industrial products, the development of a network of trade houses.
The importance of promoting joint projects in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, textile and food industries, the agricultural complex and the tourism sector was emphasized.
The prospects for unleashing the potential of interregional cooperation, joint support of innovative programs and cultural and humanitarian exchange were also discussed.
An agreement was reached on the adoption by the governments of the two countries of a «roadmap» for further development of the mutually beneficial practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
