President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of the joint venture «UzShoes» in the small industrial zone of the city of Karshi.

Kashkadarya has plenty of leather raw materials. During his previous visit to the region, the President instructed to use this opportunity for the production of leather products. After that, four projects were launched in the region.

In particular, the «UzShoes» company was created in cooperation with Belarusian business people with the attraction of investments for $6 million. The equipment from Germany, Italy and Austria was installed here with 350 jobs to have been created.

The company’s production capacity is 500 thousand pairs of shoes per year. Today, the leather shoes of 10 types are made for men, women and children. These products easily replace imports with their high-quality and design characteristics.

Along with this, shoes made in Karshi are sold at more than 100 stores in European countries. The agreements were reached with neighboring countries and India.  

The President has observed the process of making shoes and talked with women working here.

The presentation of the project on sports education also took place. The Minister for Sports Development reported on the implementation of the tasks set by the President at the meeting on the development of mass sports among the youth on April 1. The responsible officials were instructed to attract foreign specialists, correctly establish the selection and educational process.

This event has ended the trip of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kashkadarya Region. He has returned to Tashkent.
