On April 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart Tokayev.

The Presidents exchanged sincere congratulations on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, wished the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan success and prosperity.

The issues of practical implementation of the agreements, reached at the highest level, were considered.

A main attention was paid to increasing the volume of mutual trade, promoting joint industrial cooperation projects, as well as continuing the active exchanges as a part of the cultural and humanitarian program.

The Presidents also exchanged views on the current aspects of regional cooperation, including the preparation and holding of the SCO Summit in Uzbekistan in September this year.

The conversation between the Presidents of the two countries took place in a traditionally businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
