The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held the face-to-face negotiations at the Kuksaroy Residence.
The leaders of the two countries exchanged views on further development of the multifaceted Uzbek-Turkish cooperation based on mutual respect, friendship and trust.
The negotiations have focused on the issues of increasing the level of strategic partnership, deepening political, inter-parliamentary, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
In recent years, a bilateral cooperation has tangibly intensified. The agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently implemented. The constant contacts are maintained at the level of governments, ministries and departments, as well as regions of the two countries.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that an important area of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is the further expansion of trade, economic and investment ties through the implementation of cooperation projects and programs.
In this context, it is noted that there is a need to realize the existing great potential and opportunities of the parties, including through the active involvement of the mechanism of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
During the exchange of views on the regional and international agenda, the sides stated the similarity of their positions. The intention to continue a bilateral cooperation as a part of multilateral international institutions was expressed.
