On March 24, as a part of the International Investment Forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Chairman of the Council of Elders (Aksakals) of the Organization of Turkic States, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development Party of Turkey Binali Yildirim, who is on a working visit to our country.

At the beginning of the meeting, Binali Yildirim conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the President of Uzbekistan.

The Leader of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the current level of the Uzbek-Turkish relations of strategic partnership. The volume of mutual trade is growing. The major investment projects are being implemented to create a modern industry and modernize infrastructure. The cultural and humanitarian ties are being strengthened, as well.

Currently, the active preparations are underway for the next meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Top-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

The issues of interaction at the Organization of Turkic States were considered. A particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the Organization’s Istanbul Summit held last November.

They include promotion of the joint initiatives and projects in the trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, the development of the «green economy», innovation and the transfer of high technologies.

The views on the topical issues of the regional agenda were also exchanged.
