President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the makhalla (the local neighborhood community area) of Chimboy Guzari in Nukus.
It is not for nothing, the President came here to get acquainted closely with the living conditions of the population. The people have been settling these places since the 2000s. The houses were built without any plan. The streets were chaotic. They lacked electricity and a potable water.
There are now more than 14,000 people living at the makhalla. The issue of improving the social infrastructure is at stake. And recently, the makhalla has been renovated as part of the program of «'Obod Mahalla». The streets have been repaired and pedestrian paths were built. The electric transformer has been installed and electrical networks have been laid. The aryks (the local ditches) have been cleaned and trees planted.
There were not any job and medical service at the makhalla. Therefore, a garment factory was organized using light infrastructures. More than 300 women are employed. The President talked with them.
“I am pleased to see the changes at the makhalla and employment of women. If a woman has to do something with, she has a good mood and well-being in the family. We must do more in this path. Certainly, it will not be easy. However, we are a family. Together, we are able to implement all of the plans”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President gave instructions for the construction of a makhalla center, for the improvement of other complex areas in the city.
The President also inspected the new medical facility. The plans on building new clinics and organizing medical clusters in Karakalpakstan were discussed.
Eight houses on Kuktepa Street were turned into model houses. The courtyards have been restored and greenhouses built. The President visited the house of Gabit Zusupov.
“From yesterday I began visiting the remotest, the heaviest districts of Karakalpakstan. I have just been told that there are seven other makhallas in Nukus with poor conditions. We have made plans for the renovation of these makhallas: the improvement of roads, water supply and electricity”, said the President.
