The President visited the «Tashkent INDEX» trade and production complex at the Yangikhayot District.
The complex occupies 72 hectares of land. As a part of the project the trade and logistics facilities, an expo center, a hotel and catering facilities are being built for almost 1 trillion 300 billion Uzbek soums. 13 thousand new jobs are created. The project’s first stage will be completed on the eve of the Navruz holiday this year.
A meeting on the socio-economic development of the Yangikhayot and Sergeli Districts was held here.
It was emphasized that previous year 600 projects were implemented in the Yangikhayot District and more than 3 thousand jobs were created. And in the Sergeli District 65 projects resulted in creation of 2.6 thousand jobs.
The new kindergartens, public clinics and sports grounds have been organized, internal roads and utility networks have been repaired.
The tasks for the current year were discussed at the meeting.
In 2022, it is planned to implement 61 projects for 3,8 trillion Uzbek soums and create 26,000 new jobs at the Yangikhayot District.
The «Yangi Shahar» (‘A New City’) project provides for the construction of 5 million square meters of housing for 430,000 people and many social facilities. Firstly, the old wooden houses in “Sputnik” residential area will be demolished and a program to relocate the residents to modern houses will be launched.
It is envisioned to establish three kindergartens in densely populated makhallas (the local neighborhood community areas), and build additional campuses for two schools. Considering a public opinion, 3,2 billion Uzbek soums will be allocated to solve urgent problems.
In Sergeli District, it is set to implement 79 investment projects for 6,4 trillion Uzbek soums and create 31,000 jobs. Thus, the production of aluminum profiles at the “Aluteks” enterprise and spare parts for electric vehicles at the “Rezalit Stroy Group” enterprise will be launched.
The two schools, two kindergartens, and a public clinic will be built in the area. The construction of the Yangi Uzbekiston (‘New Uzbekistan’) residential area in the micro-district of Alisher Navoi will begin.
The khokims (governor) of districts and heads of sectors spoke at the meeting. They reported on plans for the implementation of economic and social projects in cooperation with assistant khokims and youth leaders.
