The President visits the Yangikhayot District in the city of Tashkent to get acquainted with the life of makhallas (the local neighborhood community areas) and the industrial facilities.

The agenda’s first item was the confectionery enterprise LLC “Almerro group”.

The enterprise was established within the project for 70 billion Uzbek soums. Its first stage of which was launched last November. A new production building was erected and modern equipment from Turkey was installed.

Currently, the enterprise is capable to manufacture about 2.000 tons of 95 types of confectionery products, including chocolates, candies, biscuits and wafers per year. 120 people were provided with jobs.

The President enquired about the quality of confectionary production.

“The quality is good. It is possible to make the cost even lower. For example, if we establish the production of imported additives here, we can reduce the cost by 10-15%. Then the product sales will be higher, and the opportunity to create additional jobs will occur,” - Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

After the second phase is commissioned, the annual production capacity will reach 10,000 tons. It is envisages to export part of the production to neighboring countries and Mongolia.
