On February 11 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, who is on a working visit in our country.

The issues of further enhancing and deepening the relations of the multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov extended sincere greetings and the best wishes of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the President of Uzbekistan.

The meeting ha sfocused on the measures taken by the governments of the two countries to ensure the practical implementation of the agreements of the Leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reached during the summit last December.

A special attention was paid to the creation of favorable conditions for the growth of trade turnover and maintaining its balance, acceleration of new projects of industrial cooperation and creation of logistics centers, expansion of the mutually beneficial cooperation in the water, energy, transport and communication spheres, intensification of interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
