President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Toshkent Makhalla (the local neighborhood community area) in Jambay District of Samarkand Region.
More than 4 thousand people live here. More than 10 thousand shops, consumer service centers, canteen and a confectionery shop function. There is a school for a thousand students, a music school and a kindergarten for 600 children. The unemployed women learn sewing at the training center established at the makhalla guzar (a gathering venue).
As it is well known, a new system has been introduced at makhallas nationwide. The khokim’s (governor or mayor) assistants and the youth leaders were appointed at 38 makhallas of Jambay District. The President spoke to them.
The khokim’s assistants and the youth leaders reported the outcomes of the study at makhallas and the plans to eliminate existing problems. It was stated that the members of needy families will be trained for professions and entrepreneurship. It is set to attract the soft loans and subsidies for their self-employment and allocation of land plots for dekhqan (peasantry) farming.
This year, for the development of entrepreneurship and employment in Jambay District, 62 billion Uzbek soums of preferential loans and 4,5 billion Uzbek soums of subsidies, which will be distributed through the system of «mahallabay» (community-wise), will be allocated.
The conversation has also focused on the importance of a meaningful organization of leisure activities for the youth, their wide involvement in sports and patriotic education.
