On November 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Sarkhumdon makhalla (the local residential community area) in the Shaykhantakhur District of Tashkent.

Addressing the problems on the ground through the activities of ministries and departments at the grassroots level, the implementation of all programs in the context of makhallas is today the main requirement put forward by the President.

In accordance with this requirement, the work has been put in place at the Sarhumdon makhalla. The internal roads and playgrounds have been improved. Recently, a new makhalla guzar was built here. The shops and consumer services, children’s and military-patriotic playgrounds are open.

More than 6,5 thousand people live at the makhalla, there are 45 multi-storey buildings, a kindergarten and a private school. More than ten small businesses employ the local youth and women.

The President got acquainted with the conditions at the makhalla. During the inspection of the military-patriotic site, the recommendations were given on attracting military personnel and athletes here, educating the youth in the spirit of national pride and courage.

As part of the «Yashil Makon» («Green Land») project, the trees have been planted at the makhalla and a small square has been organized. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the elders of the makhalla, has planted trees in the park. The elderly has read a dua (supplication) with the wishes of peace and prosperity to our country.

The President has suddenly decided to visit the Gulobod makhalla. He has familiarized himself with the local conditions, talking with the residents along the way.

A 93-year-old Anvarkhoja-ota blessed the President. Emphasizing the changes at the makhalla, the Aqsaqal (the elderly) asked to build a «chaykhana» («teahouse») for the elderly. Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported the proposal and wished the venerable old man a sound health.

At the Gulobod makhalla there is a children’s and youth sports school and a general education school No.45 of the Shaykhantakhur District. The President also visited these schools and talked with teachers.

«As you can see, we are trying to create conditions for education and teachers. Coming here today, I have made a lot of conclusions for myself. We will also renovate the building of this school. There will be good conditions for lessons and sports. This day will become historical for you», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
