On November 17, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The topical issues of further development of the Uzbek-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and expansion of multifaceted cooperation were considered.
A particular attention was paid to promoting practical cooperation, primarily increasing the volume of bilateral trade, developing and implementing the long-term cooperation projects in the spheres of engineering, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, textile and food industries, and other priority areas.
In addition, the importance of intensifying the regional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange was noted.
An agreement was reached on the joint development by the governments of the two countries of new directions and specific programs of the mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Presidents also considered the schedule of upcoming high-level meetings.
