On November 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the presentation of projects for the development of the transport infrastructure of the city of Tashkent.
The dynamic development of our country creates favorable conditions for the growth of cities, including capital city. This, in turn, requires the development of new roads and bridges, the opening of new traffic routes.
In recent years, the underground and elevated metro lines have been put into operation in Tashkent, which has created even more convenience for passengers. In continuation of this work, it is set to build an underground metro line from the Buyuk Ipak Yuli station to the Tashkent Tractor Plant residential area, as well as to implement the second stage of construction of the elevated ring metro.
During the presentation, the relevant project proposals were considered. Thus, the two options for laying an underground line are being worked out - through Mirzo Ulugbek Street or Buyuk Ipak Yuli Street. According to preliminary estimates, in the first case, the length of the line will be 8,6 kilometers, carrying capacity - 62,000 passengers per day. In the second option, the length of the route will be 8 kilometers, the carrying capacity will be 55,000 people per day. The construction work is expected to last for 5 years.
The second stage of the elevated metro provides for laying more than 11 kilometers of overpass tracks from the Kuylyuk Residential Area to station No. 5 of the Sergeli branch. It is planned that the line will consist of seven stations, the capacity will be 38,000 passengers per day.
A project was also presented to expand the overpass from Babur Street to the Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport with the construction of a bypass ring-shaped bridge.
During the presentation, the technical and economic aspects of these projects were discussed. The President gave recommendations on finalizing the projects in terms of convenience, safety and quality.
