On October 25, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon had a telephone conversation.

At the outset, the President of Tajikistan has warmly congratulated the Leader of Uzbekistan on his resounding victory in the presidential elections and sincerely wished a well-being and prosperity to the brotherly people of Uzbekistan.

The issues of implementing joint projects and programs aimed at expanding practical cooperation, as well as strengthening the good neighborly relations and strategic partnership between our countries were considered.

The Presidents were pleased to note the dynamics of the mutual trade growth, promotion of industrial cooperation projects, resumption of bus services, active contacts and exchanges in the field of healthcare and cinematography.

The current state of affairs in the region was discussed, including in the context of the unfolding situation in Afghanistan.
