On October 21 the candidate for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People – the Liberal-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of the Jizzakh region.

The candidate’s authorized person B.Uzаkov has opened the meeting.

At the beginning of his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated the Uzbek people on the Uzbek Language Day.

The presidential candidate presented his election program to the audience, which covers the development of the economy, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, healthcare, regions of the country, foreign policy and culture, improving public administration, and ensuring the rule of law.

The program also defines plans for the socio-economic development of the Jizzakh Region. In particular, over the next five years, it is envisioned to implement more than 4,000 large, medium and small investment projects in the region for a total of $12 billion and create 120,000 jobs.

It was noted that a special attention will be paid to the development of industry based on the idea of «Make in Jizzakh».

In particular, it is planned to expand the territory of the Jizzakh free economic zone and place more than 90 industrial projects for $800 million in it. The number of small industrial zones from 23 to 40 and implement 375 projects for $201 million in them is planned to increase. Many enterprises in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, energy, the construction materials industry, the food industry, the textile, leather, footwear, and pharmaceutical industries are envisioned to be established in the cities and regions.

As a result, over the next 5 years, the region’s exports will increase to more than 3 times and reach $620 million per year, of which the industrial exports shall amount to $500 million.

The candidate drew attention to the increased entrepreneurial spirit in the region in recent years, pointed out the need to expand opportunities in this area. To do this, it is scheduled to train more than 50 thousand young people in entrepreneurship, 28 thousand young men and women - in top in-demand professions.

It is emphasized that the nature of the region is favorable for the development of both domestic and international tourism. In this area, projects for $300 million will be implemented with the creation of 25,000 jobs. In general, in the field of small business and services, 100,000 new jobs will be created through work in the context of makhallas (local neighborhood community areas) in the region.

The agricultural issues were also touched upon. Shavkat Mirziyoyev has stressed that the main goal of reforms in this area is to significantly increase the economic efficiency of the land. To this end, modern agricultural technologies and new varieties shall be introduced on 100,000 hectares, which will make it possible to bring the average yield of cotton up to 60 centners, grain - up to 90 centners per hectare. It is planned to create 42 clusters, vineyards and intensive orchards will be planted on 50 thousand hectares of land. With an investment of $40 million, the area of saffron plantations in Bakhmal and Zaamin will be expanded to 2,000 hectares.  A large livestock complex will be built in Zaamin and Zarbdar regions. Many projects are envisioned in the poultry and fish farming industries.

The candidate paid a special attention to the improvement of living conditions in the field. The plans were announced to provide the population with housing and drinking water, as well as the improvement of makhallas.

In particular, in the framework of the «Obod Qishloq» and «Obod Makhalla» programs, 208 villages and makhallas will be landscaped.

It is scheduled to build 875 kilometers of drinking water supply networks, 5,000 kilometers of electrical networks, more than 3,000 kilometers of roads and internal streets. Over the next five years, it is planned to build high-rise housing for 18,000 apartments, and subsidies will be provided to low-income families.

In general, the plans are underway to allocate 45 trillion soums from the state budget for the economic and social development of the Jizzakh Region over the next five years, as well as create about 230,000 jobs.

Besides, there are the plans aimed at improving the health of the population, expanding coverage and improving the quality of educational institutions, the development of culture and sports.

During the meeting, a sincere conversation took place with members of the party, voters gathered in the district studios. They have noted the ongoing changes in the region, expressed their opinions and considerations. Shavkat Mirziyoyev supported and promised to implement the proposals.
