President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a Specialized Boarding School No. in the city of Termez.

The premises of the school, built back in 1979, are outdated. Due to the small number of classes, it accommodates only 250 students.

In contrast, the quality of education is exemplary. The team can boast of high rates of admission of graduates to universities and specialized schools.

Moreover, a new housing is being constructed around, there are more residents, and therefore the need for school education is growing.

The President has stressed that instead of this institution it would be expedient to build a modern school for 1.5 thousand students.

“It is the personnel that realize the goals that our country sets. Until we boost teachers profile and direct the education in the right direction, there will be no results. “Therefore, a new National Program for the Repair and Reconstruction of Schools will be adopted in the next five years,” – said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President talked with the teachers of the school. They have made proposals for improving school education and encouraging teachers.

The measures for the development of the general education system in the Surkhandarya Region were also discussed. It is planned to create 96 thousand additional student places in the region. For this, 21 schools and new buildings in 358 schools will be constructed, and 116 schools will be renovated. It is planned to organize 19 schools with an in-depth study of information technology, mathematics, chemistry and biology.
