Immediately upon arrival in the city of Dushanbe, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.

The topical issues of further development of the Uzbek-Tajik multifaceted relations, as well as regional interaction were considered.

The importance of continuing active contacts and exchanges for the practical implementation of the cooperation projects in the economy and the program of engagement in the spheres of culture and humanities in accordance with agreements at the highest level was emphasized.

An exchange of views on the emerging situation in Afghanistan also took place.

 The President of Uzbekistan has highly assessed the outcomes of Tajikistan’s productive chairmanship at the SCO and wished successful holding of the upcoming summit events.
