President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Dushanbe to participate at the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
President was met by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda and other officials.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit will take place on September 17 in Dushanbe.
Uzbekistan is one of the founding countries of the SCO. Today, the eight states – India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are full-fledged members of the Organization, established in 2001.
Over the past 20 years, the Organization has developed into an authoritative international structure. The SCO today is a space that unites almost half of the world’s population and a huge consumer market with rich natural resources and advanced technologies.
Uzbekistan views the SCO as an important tool for the development of the multilateral mutually beneficial trade, economic, transport, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the cooperation in the field of countering the regional threats and transnational crime.
Our country takes an active part in the activities of the Organization. The initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan serve to expanding and consolidating cooperation within the SCO.
Today, the President of Uzbekistan will hold meetings with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of Iran Ibrakhim Raisi and Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
