In accordance with the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, September 2 is celebrated in our country as the Day of Remembrance of Islam Karimov.  It has become a good tradition to pay a tribute to the memory of the First President on this day.

Today, the President visited the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov.  He has laid a wreath at the foot of the statue of the First President and paid a tribute to his memory.

The Surahs (verses) from the Holy Quran were recited.

Remembering the diseased with a kind word is a noble quality. Whoever respects the memory of ancestors deserves a self-respect.

At the ceremony dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence, Shavkat Mirziyoyev has noted that Islam Karimov had declared the Independence of Uzbekistan and led the country in the most difficult and complicated period of its history.

This ceremony is another expression of the public’s respect for our First President.

The representatives of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, ministries and agencies, and the public have also laid flowers at the monument.

A wreath-laying ceremony was also held at the statues of Islam Karimov in Samarkand and Karshi.
