On August 30 the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Germany has sincerely congratulated the President and the people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence. The achievements of recent years in promoting the democratic transformations and carrying out socio-economic reforms in the country were especially noted.
In continuation of the regular dialogue at the highest level, a thorough exchange of views took place on the bilateral cooperation. The current level of multifaceted relations was highly assessed and the main directions of Uzbek-German interaction for the future were determined.
A particular attention was paid to increasing mutual trade and investments, supporting business initiatives, industrial cooperation projects in high-tech industries and infrastructure modernization programs with the participation of leading German companies such as Siemens, Bosch, MAN, Claas, Knauf and numerous others.
The Presidents dwelled on the in-depth study of the German language at schools and universities of our country. They have agreed to continue actively supporting the joint humanitarian exchanges.
The President expressed his sincere gratitude to the Federal President for technical and advisory assistance of Germany in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan.
They have also exchanged views on the development of the situation in Afghanistan. Frank-Walter Steinmeier has once again thanked for a significant support in the evacuation of citizens in transit through Uzbekistan. The importance of maintaining close contacts for the implementation of joint humanitarian operations was noted.
The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Germany was held in the spirit of mutual understanding and friendly atmosphere.
