During his trip to the Navoi Region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also visited the remote Tamdy District. He got acquainted with the activities of the industrial waste processing plant of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex and talked to the people.

Prior to Independence, the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Enterpise has had two plants and in subsequent years, four hydrometallurgical plants were built. As a result, the volume of ore processing increased three times, and the volume of production doubled. The rock mass excavation naturally increases, and leads to large amount of waste.

The new plant specializes in extracting gold from the processing of industrial waste. Therefore, it is also called the seventh Hydrometallurgical Plant.

According to the development program of the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex until 2026, it is planned to implement 27 projects worth $3,4 billion. The new plant is among these projects.

The enterprise with a total value of about $200 million is capable of processing 15 million tons of industrial waste per year and producing more than 7 tons of gold. It is noteworthy that there will be enough waste for these purposes until 2040.

During the construction, lightweight structures and energy-saving technologies were used. The production of many types of equipment and components that were previously imported has been localized. They are produced in the workshops of the Navoi Machinery Plant and the workshops of the mining departments. Domestic components are also used in the chemical waste treatment process.

All of this is an important factor in further cost cut-out.

The enterprise employs more than 1,100 people - young specialists-graduates of the Navoi State Mining Institute and local residents.

President talked with the staff of the plant, representatives of the public and youth of the Tamdy District.

- Over the past four years, the volume of work on the development of our underground resources has increased by 30%. Our industry enjoys new advanced technologies. Most importantly, a generation of specialists, capable of working at such modern enterprises is being formed. Therefore, you are the most valuable wealth for our state, - Shavkat Mirziyoyev told the youth.

There was also a presentation of projects being implemented at the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

President also talked to the journalists, spoke about the economic efficiency of the enterprises put into operation today and the plans for the development of the domestic industry.
