On August 27 the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the beginning of the conversation, the President of our country expressed sincere condolences to the President of Kazakhstan on the tragic incident in the Bayzak District of Jambyl Region that resulted in the loss of human life. A readiness was expressed to provide the necessary assistance to the Kazakh side in the aftermath of the disaster.
The current issues of the Uzbek-Kazakh relations were considered. The positive dynamic of multifaceted cooperation was noted with satisfaction. The importance of promoting joint cooperative projects in the areas of trade, industry, agriculture, transport and logistics, tourism, cultural and human exchange programmes was noted.
The Presidents also exchanged views on the regional agenda, particularly in the context of the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan. It was agreed to continue close cooperation on the security issues in Central Asia.
