The people of Uzbekistan have suffered an irreparable loss. On August 15, after a serious illness, the Chairman of the Muslims’ Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti Usmonkhon Alimov has passed away.
Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the house of the deceased and expressed condolences to his family.
Usmonkhon Alimov was born on January 1, 1950 in the Ishtikhan District of the Samarkand Region. He was educated at the Madrasah Mir-i Arab in Bukhara, the Tashkent Islamic University and the Moroccan University of al-Qarawiyyin, deeply studied the fundamentals of the Islamic religion, mastered the Arabic and Persian languages.
In 1980-2006, he worked as the Deputy Imam and Imam-Khatib of the Imam Bukhari Mosque in Payariq District of the Samarkand Region. In 2000-2006, he was the Chief Imam-Khatib of the Samarkand region.
Usmonkhon Alimov since 2006 served as Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, Mufti. He applied rich knowledge and experience for the good of our country and people.
The arrival of the President, expressing the words of sympathy and support by him became a consolation for the loved ones of the deceased.
The supplication was recited for the deceased.
The President recalled the good deeds of the deceased.
«This is a very big loss for all of us. He was an outstanding person. With his scholarship, diligence, modesty, he won the respect of all our people. This disease caused so much suffering to the world, took so many lives! We did our best, but this is the will of Allah. May the Allah Almighty accept his soul and grant him a paradise. Let us remember the good deeds, we will continue the work of the deceased, we will make his soul rejoice», - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
