On August 10 President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the industrial development of the Tashkent Region.
At the videoconference held on August 3 this year, on the analysis of economic results for the first half of the year, the President noted the presence of favorable conditions for the development of industry in the Tashkent Region and pointed out the need for breakthrough advances in this direction. The main condition for achieving this indicator is the development of the industry of the region through the implementation of new projects, support for low-power or idling enterprises, effective use of empty buildings. Transport and logistics, services sector, agriculture and construction are also the priority areas.
The presentation of promising projects in these areas was held at the meeting.

This year, 15 projects will be implemented with the creation of production capacities for goods worth 51 billion Uzbek soums.
A particular attention is accorded to the project of creating the «Zangiota» industrial center. 165 projects are planned to be placed in this industrial zone with an area of 116 hectares of land. It is planned to create 12 thousand jobs, export products for $48 million and import substitution for $9 million.
The number of enterprises in the city of Angren is relatively small – 577, but they have great potential. The share of the industry of city in Tashkent Region is 28%. In the first six months of the current year, the products amounting to 2 trillion Uzbek soums were manufactured here. Another 15 projects will be launched in the second half of the year.
In addition, 124 projects totaling $560 million were developed. As a result, it is planned to create 39,000 jobs and production capacity for 3 trillion Uzbek soums.
There are plans to implement 32 projects for 335 billion Uzbek soums in Tashkent District and 20 projects for 422 billion Uzbek soums in the city of Chirchik.
The opportunities available to all districts and cities of the region were also considered at the meeting.
The President has noted that the capabilities of the Tashkent Region are not being used in full. It is necessary to implement the new projects more in industries, it is important to establish the production of value-added products. The task has been set to increase the amount of industrial production in the region by 40% by the end of the year.
The instructions were given to increase the activities of factories, organize enterprises in areas with a low level of industrialization, and develop roadside service.
