On August 6 President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov in the framework of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of States of Central Asia.
The President has sincerely congratulated Sadyr Japarov on his first participation in the Consultative Meeting and noted that this multilateral platform allows joint decision-making for the benefit of the entire region.
Detailed implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan on March 11-12 this year, as well as the topical issues of regional security were addressed at the meeting.
It was noted with satisfaction that since the beginning of the year, the trade between our countries has grown by almost 10% and exceeded $425 million. The practical implementation of joint projects has begun in priority areas of the economy, including industry, agriculture, textile, machine building and other industries. The active cultural and humanitarian exchanges and interregional contacts are maintained.
The issues of interaction in the energy sector were also considered, in particular, the joint construction of the «Kambarata-1» hydroelectric station.
The President has noted the strategical significance of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway project, stressing the importance of speeding up the negotiations on its construction.
The President of Kyrgyzstan has expressed support for the practical efforts of Uzbekistan to consolidate the productive mutually beneficial cooperation in the region. He has stated that the initiatives of the Leader of Uzbekistan aimed at developing the Connectivity of Central and South Asia meet the interests of fraternal peoples of our region.
The agreement was reached to continue the regular contacts at the top and high levels for the consistent development of the cooperation in all areas.
The exchange on the topical issues of the regional and international agenda also took place.
