On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Russia has cordially congratulated our President on his birthday, sincerely wishing peace, well-being and further prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.

The Presidents considered the topical issues of the Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic cooperation and alliance. The schedule of top-level events was discussed.

The trends of the development of multifaceted cooperation being observed between the countries was noted with satisfaction, primarily the steady growth of mutual trade, the successful implementation of joint cooperation projects in the sectors of economy, cultural and humanitarian exchange programs. They emphasized the importance of the early launch of the joint production of vaccines against coronavirus in Uzbekistan.

The Presidents exchanged views on the regional agenda, including the current situation in Afghanistan.
