On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Tajikistan ahs sincerely congratulated our President on his birthday, wishing peace, well-being and prosperity to the multinational people of Uzbekistan.

The issues of practical implementation of the arrangements and agreements reached following the results of the official top-level visit to the Republic of Tajikistan on June 10-11 this year were considered. 

The Presidents exchanged views on the regional agenda, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan.

The successful outcomes of the International Conference on the Connectivity of Central and South Asia, held last week in Tashkent, were highly appreciated.

They have discussed the preparations for holding the next Consultative Meeting of the Presidents of the region at the beginning of next month in Turkmenistan and the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in September this year in Tajikistan.
