On July 16 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as part of the international conference held in our capital city, received a United States delegation led by Advisor to the U.S. President of Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall.
The current bilateral agenda and the issues of international politics were considered.
The President noted with satisfaction the rapid development of the Uzbek-American relations of strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation over recent years.
Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall extended to the President of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from the U.S. President Joseph Biden.
It was emphasized that the U.S. Administration highly appreciates the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan to strengthen the interconnection of Central and South Asia.
In addition, the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of our country, the ongoing reforms to establish a new Uzbekistan, as well as efforts to strengthen the confidence, good-neighborliness and partnership in the Central Asian region were firmly supported.
The issues of continuing a constructive political dialogue, as well as practical aspects of expanding the bilateral cooperation, including combating the spread of the pandemic and vaccination of the population, promoting the joint investment projects with the participation of high-profile American companies and banks were discussed at the meeting.
A thorough exchange of views took place on the unfolding situation in Afghanistan.
