On the sidelines of the International Conference held today in Tashkent, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

The issues of further strengthening the relations of strategic partnership and expansion of multifaceted cooperation were discussed.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs extended the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the President of our country.

A particular attention was paid to the preparation of the upcoming Summit at the top-level, the promotion of joint programs and projects, primarily in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.

The development of regional interaction in the context of the aggravation of situation in Afghanistan was considered.
