The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan continued the negotiations with the participation of official delegation of the two countries. They considered the issues of the development cooperation in political, trade and economic, investment, transport and transit, tourist, educational spheres.
The President has noted increasingly strengthening relations of traditional friendship and multifaceted practical partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, as well as the similarity of the reforms which were carried out in both countries.

The content and spirit of our socially oriented reforms in all the areas are similar and consonant. Your visit will open a new era in the history of our comprehensive relations». The sides confirmed their firm course to expand and develop the bilateral cooperation and they are ready to take the concrete measures in this direction.

The meeting of the joint Intergovernmental Commission was held yesterday. Today for the first time the forum of business people of Uzbekistan and Pakistan is being held in Tashkent.
The trade turnover between our countries has been grown up four times in recent years. The number of joint enterprises have been increased by more than one hundred. Today there are 163 enterprises with the participation of Pakistani investors in Uzbekistan.
Pakistan is an important bridge for Uzbekistan to enter the large markets of South Asia and the world. The construction of the Termez - Mazar-i-Sharif - Kabul-Peshawar railway will serve not only to develop trade, economic and investment cooperation, but also to strengthen the connectivity of both regions.
The delegations of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan discussed the prospects for this large - scale project and signed the plan of joint actions «Road map» for the construction of a railway with the participation of representatives of international financial institutions in February of this year in Tashkent.
The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that our countries had big untapped potential in the trade and economic sphere and we had the opportunity to increase the volume of the bilateral trade by 4-5 times.
Special attention was paid to the cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mechanical engineering and construction, pharmaceuticals and chemistry, light industry and other priority sectors. The implementation of the projects in these areas in close partnership between the two countries will open up the new opportunities for the economies of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
During the negotiations, an agreement was reached on the comprehensive promotion of such projects and the mutual provision of all the necessary assistance and benefits for their implementation in the shortest time.
It is necessary to note the expanding Interregional cooperation. In February of this year, the Governor of the Punjab province visited our country, and the Namangan delegation visited the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.
The leaders have marked the need to link other regions of the two countries with partnership ties. The flights between Tashkent and Lahor have been resumed since June 16. Further activation of new air routes will also serve to expand the cargo transportation and to develop the mutual tourism.
Our countries are ready to make the joint efforts to prevent the aggravation of the negative situation in Afghanistan, to promote the resumption of peaceful inter-Afghan negotiations.
The sides noted with satisfaction the effective cooperation within the framework of the international structures.
During the talks, the issues of developing cultural and humanitarian ties, joint study our common spiritual heritage, strengthening cooperation in the fields of science, education, culture and sports were also discussed.

There are many people in our country, who want to visit the unique architectural complex of Shahi-kala in Lahore and the beautiful Shalimar gardens.
Today, there are about 10 million followers of the Naqshbandi teachings in Pakistan, as well as many fans of the work of Zakhiriddin Muhammad Babur. The readiness was expressed to create all the conditions for them to visit the shrines in Bukhara, Samarkand and Andijan. The agreement was reached on the joint production of a film, which was dedicated to Babur.
There has been a growing interest among Pakistani youth in getting an education in the medical universities in Uzbekistan over the past three years. Today, more than 750 Pakistani young people are studying in this direction in our country.
