On July 15 the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the member of the State Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi, who is in our country on an official visit.

The topical issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Chinese friendship relations and the comprehensive strategic partnership were discussed.

The Minister Wang Yi conveyed the sincere greetings and the best wishes of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The initiative of Uzbekistan to develop the connectivity of Central and South Asia was highly appreciated and supported, and the confidence was expressed in the successful holding of the upcoming conference in Tashkent.

During the session, special attention was paid to the issues of  agreement implementation at the top level, including the promotion of joint programs and projects in the trade, economic, invesrment, financial-technique, cultural-humanatarian and other areas of the multifaced cooperation. The importance of continuing close interaction in the fight against the pandemic was emphasized.

The sides exchanged opinions on the international agenda including the situation in Afghanistan.
