On July 5, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.

The Presidents considered the topical issues on the bilateral agenda of Uzbek-Tajik relations, as well as exchanged views on the aspects of regional cooperation.

A special attention was paid to the development of events in our region due to the deterioration of the situation and increased tension in the Afghan direction. The importance of continuing close inter-agency coordination was stressed. 

The Presidents also considered the schedule of forthcoming high-level events, including the holding of the next Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
