On May 31, the President was briefed on the presentation of the project for the improvement of the Chirchik River.
The river stretch passing through Tashkent is 16 kilometers. On this site, it is planned to narrow the channel and build various infrastructure facilities. At the first stage, a 5-kilometer stretch between Akhangaran and Bektemir streets is being reorganized.
Here, the President got acquainted with the construction progress.
The work on this site will be carried out in 2021 and 2022. As a result, an area of more than 34 hectares will be created.
The project consists of four stages. At the second stage, another 5 kilometers will be narrowed, at the third and fourth stages - 3 kilometers of the channel will merge.
In total, at the end of these works, 210 hectares of additional land will be created. The territory will be landscaped. There will be built recreational areas, walking paths and local roads. It is also envisaged to build modern accommodations, production and service facilities.
Emphasizing the importance of this area for the ecology of the city, the President has instructed to plant more trees and increase the number of recreational areas for the population.
A meeting was held with the participation of mayor of the city and governors of the districts of Tashkent, heads of sectors, chairpersons of makhallas.
The measures were identified to develop entrepreneurship, especially in the service sector, and create additional jobs owing to the correct direction of the allocated funds. The possibility of creating 181 thousand jobs by implementing 5,400 projects for the organization of service facilities in makhallas was indicated.
At the meeting, a special attention was paid to social issues. Over the past period of this year, 19,5 thousand young people out of 24 thousand enlisted in the «youth book» were given jobs. In the capital city, a practical assistance was provided to more than 16 thousand women in the «women’s book».
At the suggestions of representatives of the elder generation and activists, the executives were given instructions to improve makhallas, repair roads and water supply networks, and improve medical care. The importance of vocational guidance, involving young people in sports competitions and clubs was emphasized.
