President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Sakhovat makhalla (the local neighborhood community area) in the Sergeli District.
The area of the makhalla, formed in 2016, is 18 hectares. More than 6 thousand people live in 41 apartment buildings. Here, the school and two preschool institutions operate.
Before, the makhalla was in a deplorable state. This year, in the framework of the «Obod Makhalla» program, the territory of the makhallas was fully landscaped. The makhalla guzar (the administrative office of local neighborhood community area), «Sakhovat» park and shops were erected. The sidewalks were improved. The playgrounds and a parking lot were rebuilt.
The President got acquainted with this creative work.
The social problems in the makhalla are being addressed. The housing and subsidies are provided for the needy. A project for 5 billion Uzbek soums is being implemented to provide jobs for the unemployed women and youth. In particular, it is envisaged to launch an enterprise for the furniture production. The President also visited a grocery store in the makhalla.
In a conversation with residents, the ongoing reforms and the value of peace were discussed.
«We have built many houses in Sergeli, new enterprises are emerging. It is important that these changes are felt in people’s lives. Every makhalla of the district must become such a comfortable one. People must go for a walk, improve their health and lead a happy life – that is our goal. Your happiness is my happiness», - said the President.
This year, 1.3 trillion Uzbek soums have been allocated to Tashkent in the framework of the «Obod Mahalla» program. Within this program, 937 kilometers of potable water supply networks, gas pipelines and power grids, sewerage systems, 545 kilometers of internal roads will be built and repaired at the makhallas.
