President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has laid flowers at Ismail Somoni Monument on the Dusti Square in the city of Dushanbe.
Later the performance of masters of the arts from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took place at the Palace of Arts «Kokhi Borbad».
At the event, a Resolution of the President of Tajikistan was read out on awarding the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev the high state award of Tajikistan - the First Class Order «Zarrintoch» (‘Golden Crown’) for outstanding services in the development of cooperation between our countries. President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon solemnly presented this award to our President.
The Leader of Uzbekistan expressed his gratitude and noted that such a high award is an expression of great respect and trust, recognition and assessment of consolidated efforts in strengthening the centuries-long ties of brotherhood and good-neighborliness between our peoples.
It was emphasized that our countries are close neighbors, our peoples share one sacred land and water, one religion, history and destiny, same troubles, joys and worries.
«By supporting one another, developing the mutually beneficial cooperation, we will be able to make great progress, achieve our most cherished goals. We must always be supportive of each other, shoulder to shoulder to overcome any hardship and trials», - the President of Uzbekistan has said.
In recent years, our bilateral relations have experienced major, historic changes. Today, millions of people in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan can feel these changes in their daily lives, our President noted.
«This is the embodiment of a new model, a completely new atmosphere of the Uzbek-Tajik relations. Most importantly, all our efforts and practical deeds fully meet the genuine concerns and aspirations of the peoples of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan», - Shavkat Mirziyoyev has said.
The Leader of Uzbekistan pointed out that the joint performance of masters of the arts of the two countries has become a good tradition, embodying the eternal and sincere Uzbek-Tajik friendship and emphasized the important role of art in bringing peoples closer together.
«If people tend to set different frontiers, then art has no limits, its great mission is to unite people. The centuries-long dear dream and sincere aspiration of our peoples is to be closer to one another, to live in peace and harmony. In addition, we, the Leaders of the two states, will continue to make every effort so that the borders between us do not separate, but unite us.
Our common duty is to maintain peace and tranquility, ensure the stable and sustainable development of our countries for the sake of the future generations», - the President of Uzbekistan has emphasized.
At a beautiful concert, the talented Uzbek and Tajik artists demonstrated the richness, diversity, originality and, at the same time, the commonality of our cultures.
