At the end of the delegation-level talks, the official opening ceremony of social facilities constructed in the Samarkand Region of Uzbekistan and the Khatlon Region of Tajikistan took place. Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon, pressing a symbolic button, launched their activities.
The medical complex in the Qubodiyon District of the Khatlon Region was constructed by Uzbekistan. This modern multidisciplinary hospital with 250 beds is capable of serving 7.5 thousand patients a year. The complex has departments of surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, ocular diseases, intensive care and resuscitation, pediatrics, traumatology, gynecology, pathologic pregnancy, post natal recovery and therapy.
The health center within the complex is estimated to serve 300 patients in one shift and over 219 thousand people a year.
Tajikistan has built a general education school in the Urgut District of the Samarkand Region. It is estimated to accommodate 640 students.
The three-storey building has 26 classrooms, a gym, an assembly hall, a canteen, a library, labor and specialized classes. The educational institution is equipped with computer equipment and laboratory instruments.
Speaking at the ceremony, the representatives of the two countries expressed their great appreciation to the leaders of the states for their special attention to strengthening friendship and mutual support, creating favorable conditions for citizens of brotherly countries.
